NAUKA is an exhilarating inter semester sports event organized by the Society of Naval Architecture Students of the Department of Ship Technology, CUSAT. This event brings together students from various batches to participate in a variety of sports and showcase their competitive spirit, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
NAUKA was a two-day event, with different sports competitions taking place on each day. The events took place on the 20th and 21st of September,2023.
Day 1 Events:
1. Chess: The chess competition was a fierce battle of wits where the 46th batch emerged victorious, showcasing their strategic thinking and tactical skills.
2. Badminton: The badminton court witnessed intense matches, and the 45th batch secured the top position, demonstrating their agility and finesse on the court.In the girls’ badminton category, the 48th batch showed their dominance, combining skill and determination to win.
3. Football: The football field was abuzz with excitement as teams from various batches faced off. The 47th batch showcased their remarkable teamwork and emerged as champions in this sport.
Day 2 Events:
1. Volleyball: The volleyball matches were marked by powerful spikes and agile blocks, and the 45th batch displayed their supremacy in this sport.
2. Basketball: The basketball court witnessed breathtaking dribbles and accurate shooting. The 45th batch showcased their brilliant prowess, securing the top position.
3. Cricket: The cricket field was graced with fantastic batting and bowling performances. The 48th batch outshone the others and emerged as the cricket champions.
One of the highlights of NAUKA’23 was the exhibition cricket match between SNAS (Society of Naval Architecture Students) and DOSTAS (Department of Ship Technology Alumni Society). This added a touch of excitement and camaraderie to the event, bringing together the present students and the passouts in a friendly but fierce game of cricket.
The 45th batch was crowned as the overall champions of NAUKA’23. Their consistent performance across various sports secured them this prestigious title.
