Golden Jubilee

After the joyful Anchors & Elves celebration, SNAS reached a historic milestone with the grand Golden Jubilee Celebration held on 21st December 2025. The event marked fifty glorious years of the Department of Ship Technology’s legacy, uniting generations of students, alumni, and well-wishers. The Seminar Complex, CUSAT, served as the perfect venue, decorated elegantly to reflect the pride and nostalgia of this remarkable occasion.

Alumni from various old batches were warmly welcomed by the current SNAS members, beginning an evening filled with heartfelt reunions and meaningful conversations. Many alumni shared inspiring stories, unforgettable moments, and cherished experiences from their student life. Their reflections offered valuable insights to the younger generation and highlighted the growth and evolution of the department over the decades.

A series of cultural programmes added colour and excitement to the celebration. Dance, music, and creative performances showcased the immense talent and enthusiasm of the current students. One of the highlights of the evening was the powerful performance by Black Pearl, the official SNAS music band. Their energetic and soulful music captivated the entire audience, creating a shared sense of celebration and unity.

Photo sessions were arranged throughout the event, giving alumni and students a chance to capture precious memories together. These moments strengthened the connection between former and current batches, making the celebration even more special.

A dedicated segment of the programme honoured the first SNAS Secretary, acknowledging the strong foundation built during the early years of the association. The current SNAS team was also congratulated for their hard work and commitment to carrying forward the legacy. The ceremony concluded with a symbolic cake-cutting jointly performed by the first SNAS Secretary and the current Secretary—celebrating continuity, unity, and the enduring spirit of SNAS.

The Golden Jubilee truly became a tribute to heritage, bonding, and 50 years of excellence.
